Trojan Horse Advice

Not all of us are computer literate; in fact, most of us are not all that comfortable with the computers that we own.  We seem to love our computers whenever they are running well but when they run into a problem that there's nothing that we hate worse.  One of the worst things that can happen to your computer, other than a total system failure, is for it to get a Trojan horse virus.  Not only can this cause you to be locked out of your computer, but it can also steal your passwords and other personal information.  A Trojan can also open a door that will allow other viruses and malicious software to enter onto your computer and it totally take it over.  So if you're troubled with one of these viruses what are your options?

Most people that get this type of virus will do one of two things.  They will both format the hard drive and reinstall everything from scratch or they will take their computer to a local professional for help.  It does not have to be this costly or this much technical trouble in order to clear your system from a virus.  What really is necessary is for you to have a guide that can walk you through the process of cleaning your computer step by step.  Some Trojans have been around for so long that they have software written that will remove them from your system.  The problem is that new viruses are coming out every day at an even faster rate than the antivirus software is able to keep up.

When you are trying to remove the virus yourself, you should first give your antivirus software a chance to recognize the problem and solve it.  You might be pleasantly surprised that it will be able to quarantine it and rid your system of the problem quickly.  More than likely, however, the antivirus software will be unable to contain any virus that has already attached itself to your system.  You will therefore need to look into more technical means in order to have your system rack up and running and clean as a whistle.

The Internet is full of forums where you can get advice on how to clean one of these viruses from your computer.  You will need to read the instructions carefully, however, because they will not answer you if you do not post properly.  They will have you run software that will tell them everything that is running on your computer in the background.  By using that information they will be able to discern what kind of virus you have and how you will be able to get rid of it.  This will require some technical knowledge, but they will give you step-by-step instructions that can be followed easily if you just print them out and take your time.

Having a Trojan virus is a real hassle, but it does not have to stop you in your tracks entirely.  If you take your time and research the problem well you will be able to take care of it yourself.  In doing so you will not only clean your computer of the virus, you will feel more comfortable with it in the future.
